We use some abbreviations in our descriptions of the cats, and this is the key:
BSH / BLH: British Shorthair / British Longhair
DSH / DMH / DLH: Domestic Shorthair / Domestic Mediumhair / Domestic Longhair
FiV/FeLV: Feline Immune Virus/Feline Lukemia Virus
We give each of our cats an adoption category as follows:
Single: Single cats need to be the only cat in the home.
Single+: Single+ cats can be the only cat in the home, but they would also be okay with a buddy.
Free Agent: Free Agent cats are not bonded with anyone, but do need another cat to play with. They can go to a home that already has another cat, or be adopted with a buddy from the lounge.
Bonded: Bonded cats must be adopted together with their bonded partner.
New Arrival: This cat hasn’t been with our rescue long enough for us to determine which environment would be best for them.
Kitten: Kittens are considered to be any cat under 9 months old. Kittens must be adopted with, or into a home with, another kitten or young cat under the age of two years old.
Monty
Single+ | Male | Brown tabby
Monty is a chill individual who co-exists well with the other cats, but particularly with his brother, Tex. He can be shy, but with time and the right human friend, he’ll be a big lovebug.
Tex
Single+ | Male | Brown tabby
Tex's pregnant mother was rescued from Texas, before giving birth to Tex and Monty in Delaware. He puts the Tex in texture because his fur is sooo soft. He likes to take a break from cuddling Monty to come and meet everyone in the main lounge every day! Playful and affectionate - what’s not to love?!
Lilly
Single+ | Female | White Ragdoll mix
Lilly was left behind by her previous owner. Later, we discovered she had lived in fear under a bed for years due to being put in a room with two big dogs, who liked to chase her. While she would likely thrive best as an only cat, she has learned to coexist around other sweet social cats who respect her boundaries. Her disposition can be hot and cold, but in the right quiet, peaceful environment, her personality will certainly blossom into the sweet girl we know she is. Lily is 4 years old, spayed, fully vaccinated, Fiv/FeLV negative, microchipped, and litter box trained.
Tommy
Single | Male | Orange & White DLH
Tommy is 3 years old and was rescued in Egypt. Tommy would do best in a calm and quiet home by himself. Once settled, his loyal and affectionate nature will come out.
Molly
Single | Female | Himalayan
Molly is a Himalayan and was rescued in Egypt. She is almost 2 years old, fully vaccinated, FiV/FeLV negative, neutered, microchipped, and litter box-trained.
Vanilla
Single | Female | Himalayan
Vanilla is a Himalayan and was rescued in Egypt. She is about 2½ years old, fully vaccinated, FiV/FeLV negative, neutered, microchipped, and litter box-trained.
Tigora
Single+ | Male | Persian
Tigora was rescued in Egypt. He is a sweet, loving boy. Expect him to take some time to warm up to a new home, as he is quite shy. Once he knows he is safe, he will come out of his shell and show his wonderful personality. Tigora loves company, being petted, and being played with. He gets along well with other cats.
Tigora is approximately 1 year and 4 months old (DOB Feb 2025), neutered, FeLV/FIV negative, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and litter-box trained.
Tundra & Nordica
Bonded Pair | Male & Female | Siamese Mix
Tundra (male Flame Point Siamese) and Nordica (female Snowshoe Siamese) are bonded brother and sister. They were rescued as tiny kittens off the streets of Smyrna, DE. They are a little shy with new people, but through play, food, and calm, gentle manners, they will be your best buddies. Tundra loves the feather wand, and Tundra and Nordica both love delectable puree treats. They know when it is mealtime and sit and wait for their food. They love canned food, rotisserie chicken, treats, and their dry food too. Sometimes they sleep next to each other and other times separate, but they always check on each other. They are social around other cats and curious to explore new things brought into their area. They are both goofy at times but very sweet kitties.
Tundra & Nordica are approximately 1 year old (DOB July 2025), neutered & spayed, FeLV/FIV negative, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and litter-box trained.
Elle
Single | Female | Bengal Mix
Elle was rescued in Egypt . This little girl craves human companionship and attention. She has the cutest raspy mews and is very talkative. Elle has lots of energy and loves to play like a typical Bengal. She is not a fan of other cats and should be an only cat. Elle is approximately 10 months old (DOB August 2025), litter box trained, spayed, FIV/FeLV negative, fully vaccinated, and microchipped.

How do I adopt?
The adoption process follows these steps:
Fill out our adoption form (see link below).
Arrange for an interview with the Rescue by telephone.
Pay the adoption fee by Venmo, PayPal or check (payable to The Lone Ranger Cat Rescue)
Arrange a date to collect your new fur-baby.
Collect your new fur-baby on the agreed date.
Are cats vaccinated?
Yes, all cats are vaccinated and spayed or neutered before adoption.
Can I return a cat if needed?
Absolutely, we want every cat to have a safe home and will take them back anytime.
Do you charge adoption fees?
Yes, fees help cover transport costs, medical care and shelter costs.
How do you select adopters?
We ask questions to ensure cats go to caring and responsible homes.
I have adopted a cat, what do I need to bring when I collect them to take them home?
Adopters are strongly encouraged to bring a hard-sided carrier, not a soft fabric carrier. Hard carriers are easier to shepherd timid cats into, and they provide greater protection to a cat when placed in a car.
